Finding Your Way…

How many of you are Finding Your Way with today’s change and uncertainty? Are you having some struggles with what is happening in your life or finding meaning or purpose? I recently heard a talk from the author of the Power of Purpose, Richard Leider. He says that having meaning in life is fundamental to human existence and that finding purpose in life is key. Now realize that search for meaning in flie is as old as humanity. The Purpose Driven Life, says that everyone’s purpose is to worship God. Eckart Tolle, in his book A New Earth, say that everyone’s purpose is to bring the power of presence into the world. Jack Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup books says that he believes that everyone is born with a life purpose and that with a purpose, everything in life seems to fall into place.
So what does this mean Living on Purpose and why is this so important to you and me? There is a belief that when you are living your purpose you are doing what you love to do, what you are meant to do, doing what you are good at and accomplishing what’s important to you. When you truly are on purpose, the people, resources and opportunities you need naturally gravitate toward you. the world benefits too, because when you act in alignment with your true purpose, all of your actions automatically serve others. Leider, also, emphasized that living with purpose gives you a reason to get up in the morning. You see that without a purpose in life, it’s easy to get sidetracked on your life’s journey or lost in the struggle of life. It’s easy to wander and drift, accomplishing little. Without purpose as the compass to guide you, your goals and action plans may not ultimately fulfill you. You don’t want to get to the top of the ladder only to find out you had it leaning up against the wrong wall.
So before we continue with this topic, I recommend that you sit down with pen and paper and explore what you feel is your purpose in life…what brings meaning to your life. If you can’t answer that question that is ok too. We will continue to explore this topic next time. Let me know your thoughts or comments.
